ABOUT ME

Dr. Daniel Umoh is a physician, entrepreneur, and author whose journey reflects a lifelong passion for healing, leadership, and human development. His path began at Richland College in Dallas, Texas, before transferring to the University of Texas at Dallas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular Biology. From there, he pursued medicine at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Marten, Netherlands. His medical education took him across continents — from the Caribbean to London for clinical rotations, and then back to Shreveport, Louisiana, where he completed his electives at Louisiana Health Sciences Center.
Following medical school, Dr. Umoh gained valuable experience working in the clinical laboratory at the Health Sciences Center before completing his residency in Primary Care. His training equipped him to manage patients holistically, and upon finishing residency, he decided to work in the emergency department, where he has faithfully served for 18 years.
Dr. Umoh later expanded his horizons by earning an Executive MBA in Healthcare from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. This gave him the tools to combine medical expertise with strategic leadership. He has since balanced his work in the Emergency Department with entrepreneurship, owning and operating an urgent care clinic in Shreveport that reflects his dedication to making healthcare more accessible to the community.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Umoh is deeply passionate about human development, creativity, and storytelling. He is the author of Strength in the Storm, a book of poems that explores resilience, hope, and the human spirit. Currently, he is working on his second book, which is scheduled for publication next year.
For Dr. Umoh, medicine is more than a profession — it is a calling to serve with compassion, to lead with vision, and to inspire others through both science and art. Whether in the emergency room, in his urgent care clinic, or through the written word, his life’s work reflects a commitment to healing people, empowering communities, and fostering growth in human potential.
